18. This might be the most incredible hike in Arizona 😍 beauty, adventure and thrill all rolled into one epic experience!
🪜first, you’ll have to descend 200 ft down a set of slippery chains and ladders to the base of Mooney Falls. this might seem daunting at first. wear shoes with good traction, foot placement is key. there are gloves available to use to help you grip the chains, hang on tight and take your time. I found it to be quite exhilarating 🤩
🐏 from there, the trail follows along Havasu Creek. you’ll have to cross the creek a few times along the way. you’ll pass by cascading waterfalls, lush vegetation, the largest vine patch you’ve ever laid eyes on, and you may even get to see a few bighorn sheep!
🌴next, you’ll come to what’s called “lone palm,” which is basically a tunnel of palm trees. once you pass through, you’ll proceed to climb up another set of ladders. don’t worry, these are nothing compared to the ones at Mooney.
💦 you’ll get your first glimpse of Beaver Falls from above. there’s a trail that leads down to the falls that involves a little bit of scrambling, but nothing too difficult.
🙌🏻congrats, you’ve made it! you’ll want to spend some time exploring the falls. it’s one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see in your lifetime!
⏰ I would suggest starting this hike early to avoid crowds. bring plenty of water, snacks and sun protection. pack out your trash, respect wildlife, and be mindful of other hikers.
